Monkeys Tales Studio is an independent video game development company rooted in Bologna, the cultural and creative heart of Emilia-Romagna. Founded in 2015 by a group of developers and industry enthusiasts, the studio stands out for its deep dedication to the narrative and graphic adventure genre, placing storytelling, visual research, and the player's experience at the center of every project.

Our Journey and Aesthetics

Since its very first steps, the team has focused on creating engaging stories and explorable worlds. Our portfolio testifies to this continuous evolution and stylistic experimentation:

  • The Nadi Project (2016): Our first step into exploration and environmental puzzles, designed to guide the player into evocative and mysterious atmospheres.

  • Protothype (2017): A phase of mechanical and visual experimentation that refined our technical and narrative skills.

  • Omega: The Beginning (2020): A complex and ambitious adventure that combines puzzles and speculative narration, strengthening our identity within the Italian indie landscape.

Recent Projects and Future Vision

The studio's maturation path finds its highest expression in A Painter's Tale: Curon, 1950, a project born from the collaboration with IVIPRO (Italian Videogame Program). The game combines historical narrative, memory, and pictorial art to tell the tragic and fascinating story of the old village of Curon Venosta, submerged by the artificial basin of Lake Resia.

At Monkeys Tales Studio, we believe in the video game as a cultural medium capable of enhancing artistic and historical heritage, transforming complex stories and fragments of collective memory into interactive and emotional experiences.
